Supported Living seeks to provide adults with learning disabilities with choice, control and the rights and responsibilities to live their lives the way they want to. Our two Supported Living homes are ideally situated in the centre of Lydney, a vibrant, busy town with excellent transport links, shops and cafes, a hospital, library and so much more; all within easy walking distance.
Through our supported living service we offer people the opportunity to live independently, to pursue safe and healthy lifestyles whilst empowering people to develop their personal skills, integrate in the local community and to keep in touch with family and friends. We can provide support to plan and provide leisure, social activities, education and work experience opportunities of their choice.
We have a dedicated, flexible and skilled staff team that can offer up to 24 hour support if required. This enables the Trust to uphold the principles of supported living which include:
- Choosing friends and relationships
- Choosing how to be healthy and safe
- Choosing how to take part in the community
- Making life choices
Kimberley Drive and Morelands are well established homes for up to five adults with learning disabilities in each. True to the spirit of Supported Living, the tenants in the house have control of their lives and share in all the decision making for the home on a daily basis.
The houses have five bedrooms and generous shared facilities. Kimberley Drive has a large lounge, dining room, spacious kitchen, three bathrooms and a fully accessible garden.
Morelands has been completely renovated and adapted to be wheelchair accessible and disabled-friendly on the ground floor. There are five sizeable bedrooms and substantial shared facilities.
Tenants in both houses have individual tenancy agreements with their landlord and benefit from high quality, flexible support from our specialist team of Supported Living staff.
Both homes have shared vehicles which all tenants can access.
