Family Support

  • cs2

Family support groups are a great way to meet others for practical and emotional support. Most support groups are set up and run by parents and carers of people with additional needs.

The Trust firmly believes that families play a vital role in the continuing care of their loved ones and we very much welcome their involvement and input. After all, they have entrusted us with caring for their most precious possession.

We are very proud of our family support group “Carers and Sharers” which began in 2013.

 We offer:

  • friendship
  • opportunities to socialise and meet other people in a similar position
  • information
  • emotional and moral support
  • confidentiality
  • always a listening ear
  • a regular meeting place

Some topics we have discussed to-date are:

  • Benefits
  • Wills and Trusts
  • Future Projects at The Orchard Trust
  • End of Life Information
  • Safeguarding
  • Making Activities Matter
  • Person Centred Planning and Approach
  • Looking after ourselves too!

All meetings are on a quarterly basis at The Lodge, Upper Stowfield - times and days may vary.

Our meeting dates for 2020 are: 17th January * 17th April * 3rd July * 2nd October

All parents/carers/family members and supporters of people who live and attend any of the Orchard Trust services are most welcome to join us.
