Training and development courses

High quality, engaging training

Our training programme covers many topics highly relevant to those working in the Health and Social Care sector and also to those working in non healthcare related businesses. We offer a wide range of comprehensive courses that have been mapped closely to the content expected by regulatory and advisory bodies such as the Health and Safety Executive, the National Back Exchange, and Skills for Care. Our full day Emergency First Aid at Work and Food Safety courses are fully accredited with Qualsafe and Highfield respectively. Our Safeguarding Adults, MCA/DoLs and Dementia Awareness courses are all Gloucestershire County Council Level 2 accredited courses and are facilitated by GCC authorised trainers.

Training calendar

We are pleased to announce the return of  most of our key training courses and are now delivering these face to face in a choice of two venues. These are at our Head Office in Lydbrook or at Barnwood in Gloucester, and they both offer first class facilities for classroom based and practical moving and assisting training. You are very welcome to join us, but if you prefer we may be able to offer courses to meet your needs by webinar too –  for these you will need access to a digital device that has a webcam and a microphone (ideally a computer, laptop, or mobile phone), an email address, and ideally be able to sit in a private and quiet space, undisturbed!

Our courses are constantly being reviewed in respect of their content and safe delivery methods (following the most up to date Government guidelines) so do keep checking the website for dates. We have thorough Covid Safety protocols in place for all our courses which include an expectation on all learners to provide a negative LFD test result at point of arrival and to wear surgical face masks throughout all training, along with other reasonable expectations that would be explained at time of booking

If this interests you then do email the Learning and Development team at  learninganddevelopment@orchard-trust.org.uk for more information and we’d be very happy to explain how it all works and to welcome you to join us.
