Sexual Abuse Awareness Training

Posted by Tina Baker on 9 December 2015

The Trust Our Voice group took part in some training which was delivered by Building Circles, a charity in Gloucestershire who develop social circles for people with learning disabilities.

1

The Training was designed for people who have learning disabilities and included information about what is sexual abuse and how to recognise it.  The course was fully interactive with quizzes and group work throughout.

The Trust Our voice team were joined by some service users from homes in the Trust and the group thought it would be beneficial to have more training for other people in the Trust.

At the end of the course everyone received a certificate and gave some great feedback to the Building Circles trainers.

The group said that they now understood about what was good and bad touch and one group member said he would be much more vigilant when going out shopping.
