Carers & Sharers meeting

Posted by on 27 February 2018

The recent meeting for Carers & Sharers was all about 'Making Activities Matter'.  The group had a demonstration from Rachael Love who is a Trainer at the Trust.  Rachael put a particular emphasis on the use of materials for people with sensory impairments.

Parents were later encouraged to make a display using available resources. These were judged by a service user who found their efforts highly amusing!
The Carers & Sharers group is a support group for parents at the Trust.  The group offers friendship, opportunities to socialise and meet other people in a similar position.
The next meeting will be Friday 18th May 2018 2 - 4pm at The Lodge, Upper Stowfield, GL17 9PD - all parents, carers, supporters and advocates of adults with a learning disability who use any Orchard Trust service will be most welcome.

  • Residents from a local care home visited the Orchard Trust activity park and smallholding site.  They tried out the park equipment and met some of the animals.  It is fantastic to see a range of people using the activity park and getting so much out of it.  We welcome anyone to come and visit the site and use the equipment, we just ask that you please call Phill or George on 01594 861359 to let them know you are coming.
