New York, New York!

Posted by TB on 23 May 2016

Our new Training Manager, Wendy Bolton, is busy limbering up her vocal chords ready to sing in New York this weekend with a 130 other ladies as part of the Military Wives Choir.
This exciting event is taking place at Carnegie Hall this coming Friday evening and will be preceded by the ladies performing live on Good Morning America TV, and on the flight deck of HMS Intrepid........a busy schedule across a long weekend's visit.

Direct from the UK television show The Choir, composer-conductor Paul Mealor will lead the Military Wives Choir. Additionally, the Reno Philharmonic Youth Orchestra will take the stage in a performance featuring young musicians of Nevada, and the show will be complete with the singers of West Monroe High School Choir from Louisiana. It's a sell out!
Wendy says "As an amateur singer simply seeking camaraderie and fun through my membership of the Innsworth Military Wives Choir, I'm thrilled to be part of this amazing opportunity. We have sung in the past at cathedrals, show grounds, Kingsholm rugby ground, as backing singers for Lulu on her recent tour, and now at Carnegie Hall - the icing on the cake!
The famous saying is that when asked by someone how to get to Carnegie Hall, the answer is practice practice practice........ and we've certainly done plenty of that!!"

Wendy will update this page on her return next week as to how the trip went and watch this space as the Innsworth Military Wives Choir are planning a concert in the Forest next Spring to help raise funds for the Orchard Trust."
As promised some photographs from Wendy's exciting trip! (you can see her below 3rd from the right second row down!)
